The System 21 ®
First Full-Scale Installation

One of the early proposed installation sites for the first full-scale application of System 21 technology was at the Charleston International Airport in North Charleston.
The Charleston Airport Site was chosen in cooperation with local officials to provide high visibility for the technology along a corridor which could become the first segment of a proposed Regional Transit Network linking major activity and population centers. With broad support, the "Charleston Monobeam Project" was envisioned as a public-private partnership through a Cooperative Agreement entered into by the Federal Transit Administration ( FTA ), the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority ( CARTA ) and FUTREX. To date, the U.S. Congress has appropiated $6.2 million in Federal transit grants to support System 21's full-scale development through this partnership.

However, FUTREX and its international partners have begun to evaluate several alternative sites in the U.S. and abroad which may present the opportunity to integrate System 21's remaining full-scale development with an initial commercial installation. These other sites are currently being evaluated in terms of need, financing, and suitability. Negotiations are now underway to secure the premises and financing for the first full-scale installation, which the Company hopes to announce within the next six months.

FUTREX has an assembled core ProjectTeam of leading international firms to complete the first project including Battelle Memorial Institute , Gangloff AG. , Charleston Marine Manufacturing Corp., DMJM+Harris , Concurrent Technologies Corporation, CTC , and SYSTRA Consulting Inc.
